Julia Woehl has been part of the TURNING POINT Foundation as a coach since 2024. She combines her passion for sailing with her love of working with children and young people. In 2023, she took part in the Inclusion World Championships for the first time with her training group from Münster – an experience that once again demonstrated to her the unique opportunities that sailing can create.
Julia is also actively involved in regatta sailing herself and competes in the J70 class in the 2nd Bundesliga. What she particularly loves about sailing is the combination of trust, freedom and team spirit. At TURNING POINT, she sees time and again how children and young people come on board with worries of all kinds and leave with big smiles and newfound self-confidence. She is particularly impressed that these experiences do not end on the water, but are carried over into their everyday lives.
With plenty of optimism and enthusiasm, Julia brings her experience from sailing and youth work to the organisation. Together with TURNING POINT, she wants to enable many more children and young people to rise above their own limitations.
“You don’t have to be able to do everything on your own. All it takes is a bit of courage and someone to say: ‘Give it a go.’ And perhaps, in the end, you’ll step off the boat with more than just wet feet."
